Terms and Conditions
These Terms and Conditions govern the provision of handyman and trade services by Illawarra Handyman (ABN 75 670 102 119) (“we”, “us”, “our”) to clients (“you”). By requesting or accepting a quote, you agree to these Terms.
1. Quotes & Estimates
All quotes are provided in good faith based on information available at the time. Quotes are valid for 30 days from the date of issue. If the scope of work changes after a quote is accepted, additional costs will be discussed and agreed upon before proceeding.
2. Booking & Scheduling
Jobs are scheduled subject to availability. We will confirm your booking by phone or email. We reserve the right to reschedule a booking in the event of unforeseen circumstances (e.g., illness, emergency call-outs). We will provide as much notice as possible and offer an alternative time.
3. Payment Terms
Payment is due upon completion of the work unless otherwise agreed in writing. We accept cash, bank transfer, and other payment methods as advised at the time of booking. For larger jobs, a deposit may be required before work commences. Invoices not paid within 14 days may attract a late payment fee.
4. Cancellations
If you need to cancel or reschedule, please give us at least 24 hours notice. Cancellations with less than 24 hours notice may attract a cancellation fee to cover time and travel costs already incurred.
5. Your Obligations
You agree to provide safe and clear access to the work area, disclose any known hazards (e.g., asbestos, live wiring), ensure someone is present or reachable during the job, and obtain any necessary permits or approvals before work commences where required.
6. Workmanship Warranty
We warrant our workmanship for a period of 90 days from the date of completion. This warranty covers defects arising from our work. It does not cover damage caused by misuse, third parties, normal wear and tear, or pre-existing issues not identified at the time of quoting.
7. Liability
Our liability is limited to the cost of re-performing the services or refunding the amount paid for those services, to the extent permitted by law. We carry full public liability insurance. We are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from our services.
8. Licensed Work
All licensed trade work (electrical, plumbing, gas fitting) is carried out by appropriately licensed tradespeople in accordance with NSW Fair Trading requirements. Compliance certificates are issued on all applicable work.
9. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Any disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of NSW.
